Job Seeker tips for getting more matches

We want your membership in Doccupations to be a successful one! And we know you want that, too. But if you make your search too specific, you may wind up limiting your matches. To avoid this, we would recommend that you make your search for a dental job as broad as possible.

Here are some tips:

  • If something is not a deal breaker, don’t include it.
  • Increase the distance you are willing to travel.
  • Think about changing your location entirely. Maybe you want to be in your hometown, but sometimes a little distance is a good thing.  (Don’t tell your mom we said so!)
  • If you’re a specialist, look for generalist positions, too. Maybe you can convince a prospective employer that you will bring enough value to the practice to be worth the investment.
  • Be flexible on hours and salary.
  • Include in your profile “before and after” photos of cases you’ve completed, so your potential employer can see the successful work you’ve been doing. Just make sure to have an experienced dentist view the photos before posting, so that you know they are impressive to someone other than you!
  • Give it some time. Remember – all the flowers of all tomorrow are in the seeds of today!
